We are searching for a full-time Controller. The ideal candidate for our Controller position will have a thorough knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures, principles, and finance. This is a great opportunity to oversee all business functions, HR, accounting, finance, and operations in a small company setting while directly impacting our success.
Our office is located in East Lansing, MI. All applicants MUST live in East Lansing or in a nearby area like downtown Lansing, Haslett, and Okemos.
Controller Responsibilities:
- Oversee A/R, A/P, payroll functions, and more
- Conduct a monthly review and analysis of general ledger & financial statements
- Maintain all debt and equipment schedules
- Prepare multi-year forecasts and monthly budgets to routinely measure company performance
- Make financing recommendations and assist with financing requests
- Process new employees, benefit implementation, and compliance
- Continuously review project job costing and adjust production/labor rates to meet targets
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Manage external audits
- Be the liaison with our CPA firm to maximize tax planning and the liaison with our insurance company to evaluate coverages
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Controller Position Requirements:
- BA degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of MS Office | intermediate- advanced excel skills required
- Experience with QuickBooks and new software implementation and integration
- Creativity and autonomy required
- Must be self-disciplined and have strong attention to detail skills
- Must be able to multitask
- Ability and desire to learn and take on new tasks
- Must be able to manage highly confidential information with the utmost discretion
- Willingness to learn software utilized by Outdoor Expressions
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to come to our office in East Lansing every work day
Pay:
- $50,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and skills
